If there is one thing that I could have done differently during my European excursion, it would be to stay longer in Milan. I was only there for about 30 hours but it felt like a few seconds! Churches, pretty. Buildings, pretty. Men, ugh beautiful. Oh my lanta, I need to go back. It took me a bit to figure out my top 5 but here we go. 1) Food OMG if you don't eat at a bakery in Italy, were you really there? *photo not mine, just an example of the delicious food you can get there. I think I scarfed my food down before even thinking about pictures while in Milan. 2) Fashion Okay, I'm a broke college student galavanting in one of the world's fashion capitols, what can I afford here?? Well, not much for starters BUT window shopping is always free! By the way, this is the shopping center next to the famous cathedral... 3) Duomo di Milano B-E-A-UTIFUL! One of Europe's biggest, most elaborate churches is the Duomo Cathedral. It is a MUST see if you are visiting the city. Even if your not religious, you need to admire the architectural marvel this building is. 4) People watching It's like I'm walking through an Armani catalog. Look at this guy, I don't know if he's security or a police man or an Italian god standing in front of an haute couture clothing store. LOOK HOW FANCY HE'S DRESSED! 5) Admiring architecture
I really wished I could have spent more time wandering around the city, it's so exquisite!

Italy is a goldmine for quaint, picturesque towns. It's no wonder why people have wanderlust to come to Il Bel Paese. While in Genoa, my roommate and I decided to take a day-trip to paradise, aka Cinque Terre. This piece of heaven on earth is made up of five villages along the Italian Riviera. When you come here, you feel that you have been teleported to a different time in history. Here are my top 5 things in Cinque Terre. 1) Hiking The rugged terrain is awesome for people who are adventurous! Don't worry, if you don't want to hike to the next village, you can always take the train. 2) The coast This is pure perfection. 3) Gelato It's a party for your mouth. This one was a double scoop of mango and coconut! 4) Each. Individual. Village. (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore) Oh my lanta, you have to see first-hand to really understand why each village is magical. Pictures don't do them justice. Remember, these are peoples' homes. It's a privilege that they open their communities for explorers to roam around. We are seriously spoiled. 5) The views
It's a feast for your eyes. Take a look at this one, unforgettable. |
