Ciao, Genoa! What a quaint little city! Well, it's not so small with a population over half a million. I loved this city! Since it's situated along the coast, the harbor is a wonderful place to take a stroll. Italy is so great and Genoa is wonderful. Here are my top 5 things I did in Genoa. 1) Christopher Columbus’ house There isn’t much there left but the outside structure. Nevertheless, it’s a super neat moment in history, although I'm not a big fan of his... 2) This Fountain We stumbled across this fountain when we were exploring the city. It’s super pretty and a lot of people were taking pictures of it. Oh and it’s purple because it stood as an anti-homophobic symbol for the city. 3) Walking around in general This is a no-brainer but I stress, you can just feel the history in this city. Everything is so old yet modern at the same time. So many little gems around each corner. 4) Staying in This may come as a shock to people. Why would I stay in when I could be out and about?! At the hostel where we stayed, we met a super cool group of guys. We made dinner and hung out. I don’t regret it one bit. 5) Food
Italian food, ‘nuff said.

I am a little bias towards France. For years, I have been learning the French language and sought out to experience as much of the French culture as possible in good ol’ Nebraska. I was able to visit for the first time when I was in high school. Ever since then, I swore that I would go back. It wasn’t until summa’ 2k15 when I returned to the promise land. The time flew by but the memories will last me a lifetime. This was my first time visiting the Mediterranean city. I’m still sad that I was only here for two days but hey, now I have to go back, right? Nice is absolutely beautiful. The weather, the ambiance, and the people make the city more than just nice (pun intended). These photos don’t do it justice. But here are my top 5 things to do in Nice. 1) The beach The Mediterranean Sea is so legit. The water is crystal clear and the sun is hot. Just how I like my beaches. 2) Admiring the architecture Just look at this church, it's stunning! 3) Parks There are many beautiful open spaces here. With a little wine and cheese, your day is made. 4) This spot Oh my lanta, I don't even know the name of the summit of this hill but the view is incredible. It's a must visit for anyone who visits Nice. 5) Walking around
Everything is planned out so well and the plaza is such a cool space to walk around and see a lot of neat stuff. I have a love-hate relationship with the city of Barcelona. I hate that fact that I love it. It’s pretty amazing here and I’m glad that I got to spend a few days chilling in the sunny city. I found it to be extremely touristy and for good reason too. The night scene is unbelievable here. These are my top five things in Barcelona. 1) Camp Nou Although I hate this team with a passion, the stadium was pretty darn cool. 2) The beach This was pure bliss. 3) Parc Guell Seeing all of the Gaudi influences were really amazing. The colors are so vibrant which makes for an unforgettable experience. 4) Sushi- Well, just the food in general So much good food here! 5) Walking around
It’s just a beautiful city. Walking around (especially at night) is a must do! Hey friends! It’s been a while, but I can assure you that I am alive and well (kind of…). Over the past year, I’ve had this insatiable itch to go back on the road. The wanderlust is REAL. Since it’s my last year in college (thank goodness) I have decided to treat myself with another world traveling adventure. Plans are still in its primitive stages since the I haven’t told my boss about wanting to go abroad, that is, I haven’t told my mother. All of this thinking has made me reminisced my European trip in 2015. Which brings me to my reasoning of this particular post. I want to share the top five things I did in a certain city while I was gallivanting abroad. Madrid: 1) Santiago Bernabeu This beautiful stadium is home to the greatest soccer team in the world, Real Madrid. I had the pleasure of taking a tour in the stadium which made my heart just melt. 2) Bar hopping during game day. The atmosphere is top-notch, even if we tied and were eventually eliminated from the tournament. :( 3) Dancing the night away in the biggest nightclub of the city: Teatro Kapital O.m.g no words for this nightclub. I can see why it's one of the best in the world. 10/10 4) Got cultured at the Museo Nacional Del Prado So many wonderful pieces in this amazing museum! 5) Getting grub at a farmers market
So many fresh foods. This is a MUST DO if you want to experience local culture, like these tapas! |
