I have a love-hate relationship with the city of Barcelona. I hate that fact that I love it. It’s pretty amazing here and I’m glad that I got to spend a few days chilling in the sunny city. I found it to be extremely touristy and for good reason too. The night scene is unbelievable here. These are my top five things in Barcelona. 1) Camp Nou Although I hate this team with a passion, the stadium was pretty darn cool. 2) The beach This was pure bliss. 3) Parc Guell Seeing all of the Gaudi influences were really amazing. The colors are so vibrant which makes for an unforgettable experience. 4) Sushi- Well, just the food in general So much good food here! 5) Walking around
It’s just a beautiful city. Walking around (especially at night) is a must do!

Hey friends! It’s been a while, but I can assure you that I am alive and well (kind of…). Over the past year, I’ve had this insatiable itch to go back on the road. The wanderlust is REAL. Since it’s my last year in college (thank goodness) I have decided to treat myself with another world traveling adventure. Plans are still in its primitive stages since the I haven’t told my boss about wanting to go abroad, that is, I haven’t told my mother. All of this thinking has made me reminisced my European trip in 2015. Which brings me to my reasoning of this particular post. I want to share the top five things I did in a certain city while I was gallivanting abroad. Madrid: 1) Santiago Bernabeu This beautiful stadium is home to the greatest soccer team in the world, Real Madrid. I had the pleasure of taking a tour in the stadium which made my heart just melt. 2) Bar hopping during game day. The atmosphere is top-notch, even if we tied and were eventually eliminated from the tournament. :( 3) Dancing the night away in the biggest nightclub of the city: Teatro Kapital O.m.g no words for this nightclub. I can see why it's one of the best in the world. 10/10 4) Got cultured at the Museo Nacional Del Prado So many wonderful pieces in this amazing museum! 5) Getting grub at a farmers market
So many fresh foods. This is a MUST DO if you want to experience local culture, like these tapas! As a college student, we are bombarded with many exams and papers. Writing paper after paper or writing assignment after writing assignment can get tedious extremely fast. It is very difficult to catch grammatical and spelling mistakes in writing assignments. What can you do to help you with your writing? At the very least, if you have no one available to read your work, take a break. Step away from your desk and take a nap or watch an episode of Friends on Netflix. Actually scratch the latter. That can be very dangerous! Just take a walk outside and clear your head. After some time away from your writing, you should be able to catch more mistakes with a new perspective.
But if you are like me, stepping away from a writing assignment still doesn't catch all the mistakes. In that case, it is best to turn to the an English major friend or check out the UNL's Writing Center. The writing center is filled with people who love to edit papers. They are a wonderful resource for any major! Make sure to schedule an appointment a few days before your assignment is due and reap the rewards the benefits. Click here and get yourself an 'A' afterwards. One of my favorite things about SNL are the monologues. Over the years, the guest presenters perform an opening monologue. What does it take to write a good monologue? I believe it takes some creative juices, truth and great delivery. I think back to Taylor Swift's SNL monologue a few years ago. Her 'song' poked fun at the various failed relationships she had with her exes all while claiming that her song was not about them. It's catchy, cute and hilarious. Her timing is excellent. Her words are simple yet because of her delivery, there is an added effect to them. Writing for comedy is one of the hardest things to do in the business. Major Kudos to the writers of SNL. They are some of the best in the biz. Take a look at T Swift's monologue and enjoy!
